How's the livestock coming?
They’re still happily hanging out in the lagoon. One of your clowns (forgot her name) camped out in the Colorado now.

Nope - evil mama is very selfish!
She will outright trash lesser nem frags.

I had a established RBTA, about 2 years old in my 120g tank and maybe a 4" x 5" footprint. Got it from a coworker and it was splitting regularly... She (the maroon) entered the chat and trashed the mother nem in about 6 months!

My nems haven’t naturally split yet. I’ve helped them split the last 2 times…lol

My next project is to replace the Vectra S2 with M2 and finally have enough flow to remove the MP40. I don’t like having a wavemaker (even with nem guard) in a nem tank.

I’m super tempted to put sand back in for the Haddoni nems but I genuinely hate sand! I might just put a tray with sand to see if that helps. They don’t open up like they used to…

Before in the 175g and after in the 93g

I'm not knowledgeable on nems for the most part, especially haddoni's but don't they need some sand to walk around? Or will they just stick to the rocks!
They TRY to grab onto rocks and crevices but ultimately, they need to dig their feet into sand, their natural habitat. Gigantea (what I’m after) are rock-dwelling creatures.

That’s why I’m tempted to put sand back…they definitely don’t like BB tanks.

I think I’ll start with 1 cup (8oz) per 25’ish gallons since it’s not fully filled due to my float valve. It’s actually easy to adjust from there. Will let you guys know how things go — thanks again for all the help! @danreef55 @Jimbo327
Ok — 25’ish gallons filled - kalk will start dripping tonight.

pH update — well, nothing is happening yet after I started dosing last night. In fact, it went down since I closed the window last night.

It is getting too cold in SoCal and got down to the 50s - high of 68 today, very scary!

Nope - the sump is next to the window and we got some decent clean air here. Also, the backyard is full of trees, not aware of insecticides.

Your case, it's fantastic where you are. I'm now next to the port of Long Beach, literally, lol.

Cool - no more excuses for not doing water changes, just grab a hose? lol

Hope your 60g is doing well after the move?
