Sorry bud. I actually got it a while ago. If anyone has many cuts to accomplish, I highly recommend this. I will be using the heck outta this hopefully within the next few weeks.
Can’t wait until you start lighting up your tank - so exciting!

Dumb question: what’s “MAP” ?
Minimum Advertised Price. The manufacturer sets the price for all vendors. Without Manufacturers prior approval they are not supposed to sell for less. For me CoralVue Hydros, Reefbreeders, Varios, Reef Octopus and Aqua UV

MAP deals (without the price hike before the deal) have mainly gone the way of the Dodo... Good luck waiting.
Dodo birds - lol! Hey - I resemble that remark! I’m nearly extinct when it comes to my work life. Dooh! :(

If these things don't go on sale Black Friday I will execute all my orders :(
I buy stuff incrementally over time, mostly used, since whatever submerged is already “used”. Also, my wife would kill me if she finds out the total of these big purchases in one shot. I only get to do that once every blue moon.

So…I got really bored again and bought more mangroves! Understand that they won’t put a dent in nutrient exports — it’s just cool to have plants growing in saltwater, that’s all. lol

ATO Update — looks like I can finally go on a 2wks vacation and not worry about running out of water. It’s dripping at 6ml/min so 2.2gal per day. The ATO is 30g (technically 28) and the tube is not submerged completely. Summer will be different but so far so good. This is much safer than going directly to the RODI - that’s for sure!

Now - need to finish the Lagoon tank.

Little update - it will be 60 days tomorrow since fallow. I've put some 4 fish back into the tank 3 days ago (so, 57 days). So far so good - all 4 fish are eating, no signs of ich/velvet. I think I (and the fish) can handle ich so let's hope I won't get a velvet outbreak this time...

Super bored so I got a skimmer neck cleaner, Swabbie from Avast Marine. Will see how this works long term but I suspect that the rod and blade will be caked in gunk? At least it’s easier to remove and clean…and the skimmer neck is always clean so that’s a plus!

I need to figure out a cleaner, easier way to clean the skimmer cup though. Right now, it involves removing the cup and rinse in the shower.
Old school... 5 gallon bucket with bulkhead and vent with a carbon bag cover for odor. Connect to the base of the collection cup. Dump the bucket outside

Yeah but one problem - the skimmer’s collection cup is lower than the sump so gravity isn’t my friend. I can’t drain with a 5gal bucket. Also, with the Swabbie, it’s now kinda hard to take the whole thing to the shower. Good news is that the neck is always clean! lol
