My blue has turned into a vicious killer,he's 9+ , in a week's time took out ,3" regal angel,10" sohal, 5" pacific sailfin... was caught in act, was removing sohal by hand ,he was still attacking in my hand ,had to euthanize sohal then and there.
have an adult pair of mingi's coming soon 12"+
any sign of trouble ,blue is going in tub and being rehomed in Missouri
Nooooo - so sorry to hear! I hope mine doesn’t turn into a fish killer. So far, she’s behaving and getting along with everyone. However, she occasionally chased the Blueface, which is bigger, but that’s about it.

Hey BB
I have done it without issue
Just a little update on the Naso Tangs -- the chase lasted about a few hours. Both fish are ignoring each other's presence now, which is a relief. I think I'm done with fish... or am I? lol

The Abyzz A200 is finally up and running! This awesome return pump powers the dual nozzles and all the reactors. The plumbing took awhile since it was very challenging to source a metric to imperial, 40mm to 1.25” to 1”. Additionally, since it was too close to the sump wall, we had to use 2 x 45deg elbows to provide some breathing room for the intake.

The next project is to get another Abyzz A200 to match? Right now, the second pump is a Red Dragon Eco 5 130W, powering the other 2 nozzles and 2 UV lights.

I think the next two projects are:
1. Install an AC unit outside the fish room. Or: would it be better / cheaper to install a split air system? Why cool the fish tank where I can cool the whole room? Need help here since I’m not a HVAC guy
2. Install a UPS/generator: I know what I want, just need money to grow on trees faster! lol

Your pumps, lights and wave makers all create, and dissipate heat. You would have to do some math to see which would be more efficient. The room temperature I am sure would have to be a bit cooler than your tanks and that would also vary by day (lights on) and night.

Right - I’m getting “free”‘ heat from those + 2x57W UV and 80W skimmer!

I’m preparing for summer — our house can get to 80-82F since there is no AC in the fish room. The frag tank will be ok but I’m concerned about the 450gal without a chiller. I do have a 3/4hp Tradewind chiller that I can install by drilling a hole to the outside and install the equipment (chiller and future UPS/generator).

Sounds like triple redundancy. Chiller plumbed to outside. AC for the house. Whole house battery.
I should have done the whole house Tesla solar + battery several years ago..so here we are! :(

For now, if I get an industrial generator going, I’ll feel better. Currently I’m using a Honda generator with fuel reserves.

Ordered 2 x Orphek OR4 UV/Violet lights to supplement the front. They will be used for mostly night time viewing. Will need the whole fam to help bring down the canopy and install new lights next week.

Do them both. Just take some time to fertilize the trees. Spring is coming and I heard the Benjamin’s will be in bloom.
