Flukes update: I’m still very nervous (ok, scared) to dose PraziPro on the whole tank! Since the FW dip, the Blueface angel’s eye recovered. He’s completely normal now. The French is in the same state: one eye still cloudy. The Blue had something in his eyes but now gone. The King Angel - both eyes are a little cloudy but lost appetite.

Summary: two angels are still affected: French & King. All the all fish are fine. I wish I can catch these last 2 fish and treat them but it’s near impossible
I’ve done it several times you should be ok. I lost one or two corals .

One torch head bailed, and I lost a lasermelon tenuis. To be fair I was also dosing flux rx, and Anti Biotics at the same time!
Lucky me - my torch will bail regardless of what I dosed! I have zero acros so all good.

I’m more concerned about the fish - lost thousands of fish 5 months ago and prefer not repeating that. You are daring — I only dose one thing at a time. If I can completely avoid dosing, that would be ideal.

It's been a wild and fun roller coaster ride with respect to tank consolidations & upgrades this summer. The main tank (150g SPS Cube) is still going strong. However, the following systems have been shut down:
  1. Super Lazy Reefer
  2. Oceanic 175g + Frag Tank
  3. 360g Carpet Dream Tank
The first 2 tanks + frag system were consolidated into one 93g Advanced Acrylics lagoon/frag tank and the 360g didn't get plumbed up. This build thread is for the 450g CDA tank and the 93g Frag/Lagoon next to it. Originally, I wanted to combine the two tanks but it's probably best to keep them as separate systems for disease control.

Equipment List
Tank/stand/canopy: custom-built, steel-welded, euro-braced 450g tank (96x36x30, 3/4" glass) by CDA
Sump: custom-built, PVC/Acrylic sump (66x28x18) by Advanced Acrylics
Heater: 2 x 600w titanium heaters by BRS
Light: 12 x Orphek OR3 120 + 2 Orphek UV = 14 lights, managed by 2 Osix controllers!
UV Light: 2 x 57w Classic UV by Aqua Ultraviolet
Return Pump: Abyzz A200 by Abyzz and Red Dragon 5 Eco 130w by Royal Exclusiv
Skimmer: Bubble King Supermarin 300 by Royal Exlusiv
Calcium Reactor: Dual Chamber CR5000D by Reef Octopus
Controller: Apex EL + Trident (Display), Hydros XP8 & X4 (Lagoon)
Wavemakers: 4 x Ecotech MP60s
Reactor (carbon): FMC415 by Geo's Reef
Chiller: 3/4hp commercial chiller by Tradewind

Fish List
Angels: Blue, Blueface, Passer, Imperator, French, Swallowtail
Tangs: Gem, Blonded Naso, Naso, Blue (3), Yellow (2), Purple (2), Sailfin
Misc: Fox face (2), Copperband Butterfly, Kleine Butterfly, Six Line Wrasse

What an absolutely gorgeous setup. I love the way the white stand and canopy look with your bare bottom. It’s such a great look.

Thanks for following along. Similar to our neighborhood, every new constructions now got the simple white house with contrasting black accents!

Guess I’m digging the new white cabinets — make the tank explode with colors! :) All my tanks from the last decade+ have been BB — I had sand for the Haddoni last year but ended up ripping them out, too much maintenance!

Heck yes on the color pop!! I think it’s cool that even experienced reefers are trying new things. I’m going white too! I haven’t gone BB yet. Let’s see how clean I can keep my sand.

BB works well if you’re SPS dominant— can crank up flow w/o having some bald spots! lol

There are definitely merits to sand if you plan on a natural look and/or want to keep sand-dwelling animals. This was my 175gal before I consolidated to the frag tank, now also BB.

That’s beautiful. Do you find it take a little bit longer for a new BB tank to establish stability for corals? It will be fun to see how Dan’s develops.

Yes — a lot longer than sand. My 175gal took half the time and even the sand was white once uglies are gone. My 450gal has no algae now but I used half matured rocks. They helps a lot! That said, sand is definitely more stable.

Love new toys! I was thinking about doing ozone
It’s my first time so definitely learning! I already have UV & carbon so will be interesting to see how +O3 will look like. Perhaps I can get rid of the carbon when O3 is in place?

It’s now overflowing - wish me luck with PraziPro! I’m super nervous - first time dosing the DT. Ugh

Top down view of the new toy, turned off for now though. UVs are turned off and I suppose I shouldn’t run O3 during Prazi?

Make sure to turn the skimmer a lot lower as well. Good luck :)
