Baking baking soda - making soda ash - RHF Recipe - ???

I am following the instructions for Recipe #1, Part 2: The Alkalinity Part

When it says to cook 594g of baking soda - how many grams of the resulting soda ash should I be using?
A. 594g of soda ash?
B. Or the amount that 594g of baking soda cooked down to? In my case it looks like it cooked down to around 374g.

If "B", do you know how many grams of soda ash I should be using?

We’re you able to source somewhere to buy the Dow flakes for the calcium part ?
I am just using up the last of my b ionic and switching to this recipe

It says use what it cooked down to. It doesnt give a weight for that.

Spread baking soda (594 grams or about 2 ¼ cups) on a baking tray and heat in an ordinary oven

Dissolve the residual solid in enough water to make 1 gallon total.

We’re you able to source somewhere to buy the Dow flakes for the calcium part ?
I am just using up the last of my b ionic and switching to this recipe
I have been using ESV Calcium Chloride from either BRS or MarineDepot - whichever hast the better price at the time.

So just to confirm, if I have pre-baked a load backing soda, I take 375g of the backing soda (now soda ash) and mix it with 1 US gallon of water? If the above is correct then I have been mixing it wrong as I have been trying to mix 594g in a US gallon! I have to heat it up a lot for it to dissolve but once it cools down, I get a layer at the bottom of the container that hardens.

B. :)

You can only know the value if you baked it perfectly. Perfect baking of 594 g of NaHCO3 results in 375 grams of Na2CO3.

Right, that is wrong, and hence the difficulty dissolving it. :)
