SCIENTIFIC NAME: Chaetodon striatus

COMMON NAME: Banded Butterflyfish

SIZE: 6.2†(16 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE: 55 USGal (208 L)

FOODS & FEEDING: Fanworms,Christmas tree worms, spaghetti worms, hard coral polyps zoanthids, stony coral gametes, polychaete tentacles. Varied diet of chopped fresh seafoods, marine fare for carnivores and herbivores. Feed min 3 times a day.

REEF COMPATIBILITY: Not recommended due to specialized diet.

CAPTIVE CARE: This species does well in the home aquarium if it is acclimated properly and beginsf eeding. Banded Butterflyfish will pick at hard and soft corals and require several hiding places. More than one can be kept in larger tanks.
