You feed that guy strawberries? that is cool, do you know how that would support the fishes immune system or is it more like a treat?
They get a little banana as a treat as well. As for immune support, no idea. I feed them a little once every couple of weeks.

i cant think

Does it show any health to the fish? If so I may need to try this with my guys.

I have been feeding the Des, Hippo, Achilles fresh fruit as a treat for almost 10 years now. I would assume as they have a Buffett of macro and are fed DIY frozen 6 times a day, that the treats do not cause an issue.

Des ftw but I do remember seeing someone who had a huge tank 500g+ that had a giant sailfin who had an orange tail instead of the regular fading yellow tail.

I prefer the regular for sure, I mean sure the des is nice but some people don’t see the true beauty until they see a mature Z. veliferum against a Z. desjardini. The velifer just has something that really shows against the Desjardini.

How do you feed the fish 6 times per day? I could see an auto feeder of pellets, but DIY food?

I do as well, I guess I would need to set an alarm to get this done. Both my wife and I are home too.
I am pretty much on a very set schedule when it comes to refilling my coffee lol. Every 2 cups, they get fed. That gets them 4 feedings. The next 2 are when we eat dinner and about an hour before lights out. Basically, we eat dinner when they eat and right as lights start to get "blue", they get fed again.

I do not feed a ton each feeding, but I do feed what they will eat in 2-3 minutes. This is more for the anthias than anything, but benefits all fish.

When you purchased your Anthias how did you QT them? if at all? and what did you feed them. I love fat heads and would like to add about 6 to the tank.

Also what do you feed them, I know you said you do a DIY but what is in it?
