Thanks it was amazing. Smoking about ten pounds of wings for the boys on Sunday and I'm unreasonably excited.

I know what you mean. I’ve cooked on a propane grill for years. This is my first pellet grill and I’ll never go back.

I have one of each. They both have their uses imo.

A bit off topic but related.
I am in market for a new smoker.
I have heard the pallet smokers are better than traditional electric smokers.
Can I get some feed backs?
I ONLY do smoked beef ribs in smoker for rest I have natural gas grill.

Pellet smokers are very easy to use, especially on long cooks. However, they don't offer a heavy smoke flavor, its more subtle. I enjoy that, but some people like the heavier smoke. You can use a smoke tube in a pellet grill, but its an extra step. With an electric smoker you can get more smoke by adding more wood to the burner.

I'm a big fan of the pellet grill but in some ways they are similar. And, I think there is something just a little better tasting when wood/charcoal is being burned and not just smoldering. It could be my imagination.

Cool thanks.
I am not much into heavy smoke. I prefer a mild smoke flavor and a good smoke line.
I smoke the bbq sauce on the meat at last hour or so as my last step. Beef ribs take about 6 hrs minimum.
I follow 3-2-1 step. 3 hours straight in smoker then 2 hrs foiled and last hour open with sauce.

I think I am going to go with a pellet smoker.

I am kicking around the idea of a stick burner as my primary source of BBQ. Nothing in my opinion beats a stick burner for the heat, or the smoke flavor.
