Hello people,
So I have this 29g aqueous tank that used to be a qt tank. My dream has always been to keep princess anthias and after talking to a expert I have decided to make this the tank. The restrictions in the past were the fact that they are deep water, prefer lower lighting, and cooler temps. After much thought and indecisive I have built a aquascape I enjoy.
Tank: Aqeuon 29g
Lighting: stripping a Aqueon hood of its blue led and building my own mount
Rock: Dry
Sand: Arag-Alive
Skimmer: will buy a Reef Octo 1000 Hob (one thing not budget)
Power head: A single Koralia Nano 565
Heater: Aqueon 100w

Livestock:
Nothing final but my dream right now is...
Yasha Goby, Pistol Shrimp
Midas Blenny
3 princess anthias
Maybe fire fish or wrasse

I am putting the tank in front of a window so a idea I have is to put a mangrove in it.

PICTURES AND MORE INFO SOON TO BE POSTED

Nice Stocking list there. Be sure to reach 100% slowly though. It's always good to go slow. Especially on smaller tanks.

Also I'd think about having the tank in a window a bit more. This is usually not advised as sunlight is perfect for growing algae real fast, and it will also heat up the tank somewhat causing temperature fluctuations. But if you can manage these 2 issues with curtains and a chiller then your good to go.

Came white to see the princess anthias. I just picked up 8 purple queen anthias 4 days ago, currently in QT. But looking happy .

Wow Hope they live. I agree on the algae issue but my thought process is that the tank is lower then the window and only reaches about 3” above the bottom of it. I am hoping to keep the room it’s in at 72 and the tank at 74-75. So that will help. I am on a budget so chiller ain’t an option.

Thanks for the feedback and Please Send me picks of the tukas

Hey loving the build! Only problem you seem to have a heavy stock list. And those madis blennys will probably outgrow the tank! Good luck!

True that’s why I have decided to not add a firefish or wrasse, thanks for checking it out. But it’s a long tank and I think the Midas will live threw it
Hopefully:)
Anyways I could just throw it in my 200g if it grows big and aggressive

Okay so it’s been 2 weeks of cycle using microbacter start xlm and quikcycle. Obviously I didn’t do It 100% correct because nitrites are at 5-10 ppm and ammonia at 0 according to a seachem live alert. I’ve tried added small doses of mb start and I don’t know if it’s doing much. I am going to just sit back till it cycles
