Best Budget Supplemental Lighting (Blue/Actinic)...

Hi Reefers

Looking to supplement my 165W Viparspectra with some extra blue/actinic lighting. 29 g standard DT. Currently using two Aqueon True Blue LED's, but I am not satisfied with the shade of blue, or the brightness of the bulbs (and they literally touch the water line, lol). Looking for a budget friendly (around $100 if possible) upgrade for the True Blues. I have them ziptied to my mesh lid, so a bar or strip style of light would be ideal, to replace this setup.

I was looking into Reefbrite XHO bars a while back. They have actinic that are nice. They are a little above 100 for a 24”. I ended up with SBReef bar but I would stay away from them. I got 2 actinics from them, but had an issue with one and never could get in touch with them.

Also look at the Orphek OR3 blue plus.
These are quality built and the blue plus, imo, is very similar to the early 90's actinic.
I run MH and use one on my 120 for dawn and dusk viewing.
You will not be dissapointed with the look. If you already have the colors they will make your corals glow.

Marineland hidden accent LEDs blue only not white/blue. $35 each for 17". Great color. Waterproof as well.
