Hi All, Currently building a shroom 11 gallon cube, wondering the best substrate to use. I was thinking of crushing rock into small pieces as the substrate so as the shrooms split and attach to another rock, sell off that shroom. Looking for other ideas before I finalize this little project.

Thank you in advance.

When I was selling corals out of my 2 bedroom appartment I had a 10 gallon tank for mushrooms and one for ricordia and I ran crushed coral or Aruba Puka Shells for substrate to make mounting on rock rubble much easier! I used just enough to keep them from attaching to the glass bottom of the tank so it was a pretty shallow sand bed.

that def could work and I like the size. Will check locally here in CA if any LFS carry. Thank you very much...

You could also add biomedia like seachem matrix. Its basically just pumice stone that has quality control and is clean.
