Happy Monday and happy BIG FISH week! This week we'll focus our topics around those fish that are big, beautiful and poop a lot. :) What are we calling big fish? Well I guess it's any fish that might grow up to 8-12"+ or so maybe? That's up for interpretation. When I personally think of "big fish" I think of surgeons (tangs), large angelfish, rabbitfish etc. So let's kick it off today with some basic questions!

1. What's your most favorite "BIG FISH" in the hobby?

2. How many "BIG FISH" do you currently house in your reef aquarium? Which ones?

I have a Caribbean blue tang, easily 8-10 inches in diameter. A mimic tang around 4-5 years old, that's easily 6-8". A 8 year old Black Long Nose tang that's in the 6-8". Smaller large fish, a female Swallowtail angel Fish, a Dragon Wrasse 6- 8", I've had him around 3 years. He was around 1-1.5" when I first got him. The flow blew him all over in the tank. .

Then I have two Creole Anthias - a male and female that are rated to get to 11-14". The male right now is easily 8-10" The female is in the 6-7" range.

Only one for me, and she's just visiting temporarily. Right now she's not much bigger than a US quarter, and is just hanging out eating as much as she can while she gets big enough to hold her own in her forever home.

I have two yellow tangs, but I do not consider them large even if they could get over 8". I also have a pair of Spotbreast angels. I like lots of smaller fish.

I have several larger fish - the largest being an Emporer Angelfish named El Heffe - or the Boss. This fish actually makes noise like a growel when he is bossing the fish around. I wish I could record this noise - but it's pretty ornery sounding. Other larger fish include Squareback Anthias and a Fox Face. I had a Cow Fish that was around 8" but he ended up getting stuck in some coral and dying due to excess stings (i think anyway - at least he didn't nuke the tank)
