I put a piece shrimp in a jar and leaned it at a 45 degree angle against a a rock close to his cave he lives in. Once he goes in the glass jar to get the shrimp it is too slippery for him to get back out.

I had a couple that big from TBS rock a couple years ago. Mine were in a tank for about a year and would come running out of the rocks to take food directly from tweezers.
Eventually my toadfish grew large enough to take them down easily.

This one has been eating my acans and pulled one I had sitting on the gravel into his cave and was eating on it. I have not put any live rock in my tank from setting it up so he has to have been in the tank for a long while and I have had many acans recede and die over the years. I have also heard when they get big they can even catch small fish. Crabs cant be trusted in a reef aquarium. I am not aware of any other damage he might have done but I did not know he was in my tank until recently.
I rather like crabs and I am keeping a few.
These are molts I picked out of the system.
These guys are in my sump and refugium now.
Not reef safe. Will eat fish.
