Just thought of this, you need to think about keeping at least as much salt as is needed on hand to do a 150 percent water change. This is for those reefers that either have a mixing station, or are capable of producing their own RO/DI water. I use HW Marine reefer mix, so I always have to keep at least a few boxes on hand as no one but BRS carries it. I just started to use a box and I currently have 5 more in reserve. I feel you need at least enough to do 150 percent water change, and this is why. Lets say you have a big problem and need to do a massive water change, say 50 percent, and a few more water changes afterward. Do you want to have to run around looking for salt that you normally use and hope the LFS has it. Again, for me its simple as no one does, except BRS carries my salt brand. For me, I would need to keep at least 3 boxes of HW Marine reefer mix. This is mainly for those reefers that have a tank that is 3x's bigger than what a standard box of salt would mix to at your salinity.

I am starting to think that, though a bigger tank is more stable, you also have to be more prepared for the possible big issue and keep more in reserve to deal with it. :) ;)

While I will be trying my hardest to get my tank filled tomorrow, I may also replace the membranes on my RO/DI system and upgrade the flush valve as well to accommodate the higher flow membranes. I currently have 75 gal a day membranes, I have 100 gal a day membranes to replace it with. I could have went higher, but was concerned with the possibility of higher TDS. I currently have 0, and I want to keep it that way. ;)

I started to move the aquascape from upstairs to the tank downstairs. This is going to be a SLOW process as I will be securing it further along the way as I see areas that may be unstable. I placed a towel on the eurobracing to protect it. I am currently waiting on some of the Marco rock cement to cure before going any further. Once the 3 sections of foundation are in, the rest will go in quicker as it has already be cemented together. I may also use superglue and some rock dust to cover the cement areas. I can't do it on the sections that are soaking currently in the brute cans with the live rock, but I can on the actual dry rock.

I was getting frustrated having to move the scape and trying to get it to go back the same way it came apart, UGH!!! I took a break, saying I was done for the day and I would try again tomorrow. Thankfully, I am as stubborn as a mule. After a bit I went back to it and,’after a few minutes, I am at the point where I can not do any more of the scape until I start to add the sand and water as the rest of the scape is in a brute trash can with live rock. So it looks like I will be able to get it wet this weekend. Stay tuned as I may end up filling it tonight, knowing me, and not being able to stand still, LOL!!!

I am waiting on one piece of scape to dry before I install it. If I am able to install it tonight them I will, in all likelihood, have the tank wet tonight. I am hoping for this, because it will give me time to finish tightening the plumbing and tie in my return pumps. They are ready, I just need to install some soft tubing between the hard plumbing and the return pumps. If I am able to get it wet tonight, it will not be a full tank wetness, as I only have 100 gals of saltwater. I will have to make more, thus the 100 gals patiently waiting in the RO/DI tank.

Not sure how much sand I will put in the tank. I have 160 pounds of CaribSea Special grade waiting. I will need to see how much sand gives me the depth I am looking for. I want a Leopard wrasse of some sort, thus, at least a 2 in sand bed.

WELL, like I said, if things go right the tank may be wet by tonight. GUESS WHAT, THE TANK IS WET!!! WOOT WOOT!!!

100 gals down, a whole lot more to go, LOL!!! I am currently mixing up another 100 gals and also filling my RO/DI tank.

I wasn't sure if the water line would be high enough to finish my scape, but it was and so I finished it. The pictures don't show it all. the water was to cloudy to take a good picture. I will when the water settles.

It’s a GREAT day!!!

Are you kidding, I am done with the scape. I decided to go with the simplistic look.
You do you Bill. :) I think you will take the award for "Most Negative Space" in the aquascaping category this year.

Now stop being so patient and pump some water and fish in there. If you don't make some mistakes in the rush to fill, how are we supposed to learn anything?
