I think I may have had my first Gyre 350 fail on me the other day. I am currently cleaning it and will likely replace the motor block to see if it works.

For those that think one of their Gyre 350's failed, try cleaning the motor block. My gyre would spin, I could feel the motor turning, but the motor block wouldn't. I just cleaned the Gyre motor block, and did a complete tear down, and when I put it back together I was going to replace the motor block. Instead, after doing a complete tear down and cleaning, I put it back with the original 3 year old motor block in it, and guess what, It works perfectly now. I guess you actually need to clean the motor block and not just the impellers, LOL!!! ;) :eek:o_O:grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes:

New computer is up and running. I am talking to you on it now. Just having built it, I am already upgrading it, LOL!!! Youbhave to be careful with the DDR5 ram, and Intel will only guarantee 4800MHz, I installed 5600MHz ram and was only able to get up to 4000MHz before having posting issues. I am changing it to 2 16G G.Skill ddr5 5600MHz ram now. I am also waiting on another 2T Samsung 2280 Pro ssd, it should arrive today. I will have to shut down the computer to install both. The ssd goes behind the EVGA 3080ti graphics card, so I will have to remove it.

Wow nice rig. I just did a 11900KF with 3080Ti, Corsair 64GB DDR4 last week. 3 curved 23 MSIs. No water just using a Noctua Chromax.

That card runs hot. About 70c under load. Going to make a nice heater in the winter. They say it doesn't throttle back until about 80c so I guess that's ok.

Thank you

I changed the fan curves after I switched the OC switch on the card. I have yet to benchmark it as I seem to not be able to find the benchmark program in Heaven Benchmark yet, LOL!!!

I have been OC'ing the 12700k, though having issues with the DDR5 being stable at higher clocks. Its really not surprising yet as no hardware is ready for it yet.

My score so far after a mild overclock.

Just figured out how to benchmark on Heaven Bencemark, I guess it pays to actually read the instructions, LOL!!!

First score 3300+

Now to actually OC the card. With a mild OC it ran at 76c. I just changed the fan curve again. I use MSI Afterburner for my OC software on the GPU.

Knowing myself, I couldn't leave my new computer alone, LOL!!! I will now start to order and change my computer to a open loop water cooled system. I just ordered a new water block for my EVGA 3080ti graphics card. I will slowly get together the other parts needed to redu my cooling on the computer.

Hey Bill, watch this video from JayzTwoCents about a free fan controller for your PC. Can control ALL your fans.

LOL, already seen it. He is also the reason I am going water cooling.

I've been using it for a couple weeks now. Works great for having better fan curves and setups to control how/when the increase.

@Billldg this has become quite the thread! Just spent fifteen minutes searching for the latest pics of your plumbing and bracing! :face-with-tears-of-joy: Can you tell me how you braced your pipes? Also did you drill the stand to attach supports anywhere and if so what did you do to secure against rust?

I created inserts and then attached them to the section of wood that was installed in my stand. I didn't have to drill into the steel stand. I used outdoor deck screws to secure it to the stand. After I redid it I haven't installed the 1.25" pvc clamps yet. just been to busy. On pages 27 and 28 it shows how I braced them. I still have them in even though I changed the return plumbing, now I just need to install the clamps to full secure it.

With the exception of a few clamps, I am done with the plumbing. I decided to move the carbon reactor outside of the sump due to ease of maintenance.

Ahhh this was the key picture for me to get it. So you expoxied a 2x4 to the underside of the deck of the stand and then screwed into that. Brilliant. I hadn’t thought of that. Thanks!

I am sorry that I have not be as active as normal, BUT, I needed a break from the forum for a few reasons. One was the issues I had with my tank and how they came to be, causing me to loose my Achilles tang while in the QT tank. Loosing such a great fish was the final straw that caused me to take a break. The other reason is not tank related. It was simply my job and a very high demand with this summer being a scorcher. I am trying to come back, but it will be slowly as I did enjoy the vacation away from being a RS and Mod.

I will start off by talking about what I am doing now besides working myself to death, LOL!!!

I am rebuilding my computer after having an issue with my MB on my new build. Again, I feel I popped a few VRM's, but, we will see as I RMA'd the board. Me being impatient, I ordered a EVGA Z690 classified MB. I received it today. I already did surgery on my EVGA 3080ti FTW graphics card and water cooled it. I will try to build it this weekend and hopefully have it running, though its unlikely. I plan on water cooling the new computer, thus the delay. I will post pictures in a bit as I do find this interesting.

OHHH, and my tank is starting to come around, LOL!!!
