Any idea what this black sponge type thing is?

Its really hard to tell from pics but there is such a thing as black sponge which is a harmless hitchhiker. Also the other thing could also be a sponge. If you can get better pics I'll try again.

I have this same sponge growing on all my live rock. Anyone know how to get rid of it?

pulling it out and spraying it with hydrogen peroxide will kill most sponges
