Definitely keep the skimmer. The clams will do some filtering but without the skimmer your nitrates are going to rise.

Might take a while to settle but should work, due to water temps I am waiting until August or September to order my pacific oysters.

Bleigh, I absolutely LOVE this tank! Makes me what to do another tank build!!! I am finally starting to get mine running on cruise control at just under the 1 year mark!! the set up is so clean and is jaw dropping!!!

wait maybe I messed it but how did you get doors on both side of your electric cabbie?
I was thinking of doing that but was told it would not be a good idea?
did you get get another set of hinges and drill template?

that sure would make life alot easier if I could do the same on my 650P
BTW the tank is looking great. I have been having some bad lluck with mine of late.

My lfs modified my tank for me so doors would open on both sides. They put in extra supports. Not entirely sure of everything they did. But I love that they did it!

Agreed. It seems silly to have a peninsula that is only accessible from one side. Essentially a peninsula dt and a sump pushed up against the wall.

Working on this project today. Trying to not look anything up and just see how well I can figure it out from the info they give me. Of course, I’m recording it…. So you may see the video in 8 months. takes me FOREVER to find time to edit.
