Btw. I’ve been toying around with turning my sump into a clam refugium. Curious as to whether I should keep my skimmer if I do this. Or maybe just down size my skimmer.
Definitely keep the skimmer. The clams will do some filtering but without the skimmer your nitrates are going to rise.

Might take a while to settle but should work, due to water temps I am waiting until August or September to order my pacific oysters. :)

Cleaning up the wires under the tank. For the sump done. I’m going to make a custom control board that fits better under the tank. Still got to get the wires behind the control. Oars cleaned up. Don’t judge. It was late last night and I had to go to bed.

wait maybe I messed it but how did you get doors on both side of your electric cabbie?
I was thinking of doing that but was told it would not be a good idea?
did you get get another set of hinges and drill template?

that sure would make life alot easier if I could do the same on my 650P
BTW the tank is looking great. I have been having some bad lluck with mine of late.

My lfs modified my tank for me so doors would open on both sides. They put in extra supports. Not entirely sure of everything they did. But I love that they did it!

that sounds amazing! i really wish they shipped that way.
Agreed. It seems silly to have a peninsula that is only accessible from one side. Essentially a peninsula dt and a sump pushed up against the wall.

Working on this project today. Trying to not look anything up and just see how well I can figure it out from the info they give me. Of course, I’m recording it…. So you may see the video in 8 months. takes me FOREVER to find time to edit.

Time for a new update!
Lol. I’ve spent most the day at ikea and Home Depot getting stuff to clean up my ghl equipment. Definitely will have an update incoming.
