One of our 3 fish stores we deal with told us to turn down our white light % and use the 23k program for our reef tank. Would like to get general thoughts. For reference we use 2 Red Sea Reef LED 50’s and had them on the 23k program with blue at 100% and white at 50% for mixed coral. Fish store suggested we adjust white down to 10% from original 50%. Tank is the Red Sea Reefer 350. Thanks.

I run my blues at 100% whites 20-30% red 20% (also can cause algae blooms) and green at 25%. Since I have made these changes, I have to clean glass less and see the hair algae depleted by 50% in a months time. This is just my observation. Blue is a much softer light than white so corals soak all of that up and love it!!!

Our coral is open and happy so we must have the lighting ratio right. 80% blue and 10% white.
