Well first of all we have a house on the big island. I swim with 4 pound tangs daily and they breed like rabbits. I personally think that supply chain in the US will increase because if inflation gets any worse you wont see a dem in office for a decade if not longer. Not sure if I answered all your questions but will be happy too. TOUGH LOVE
Actually you didn't answer Anything . You haven't given any indication as to Anything tangible to support your claim that prices will be half in a year despite prices on Fish moving in the Opposite direction for the last three years straight.

Now fin got me second guessing myself lol. Should I wait a year or pay 300 now lol.

Just asked my Lfs and they have one quarantined for 300. I might do that.
I didn’t quarantine at first either…. Than I lost half my fish and the display went fallow for a long 90 days. So now I use humblefish tank transfer hydrogen peroxide method. It’s easy compared to copper and I have had zero issues since starting it.
I’m going to be honest with you though, in my opinion, if you get a quarantined fish and put it in a tank with non quarantine fish, you are possibly wasting your money. Just because what you have looks clean currently, does not mean they don’t carry something. Tangs are ich magnets and will likely be to first to get something. The smooth skinned tangs are probably more susceptible such as powders, hippos and what not but I personally feel it’s all or nothing.
Also TSM is a major quarantine fish supplier. They also advertise a pre order white tail for 299 right now.

Watching my square tail decide he is as sick of the hair algae as I am on the only recent dry rock in the tank. All the fish mentioned In this thread are solid additions.

I love it a $20 fish for $250. Hawaii is one of the most socialist states we unfortunately own. Their ban is nothing less than a political ploy to drive more tax paying dollars from the mainland to their broken system. " And so far its worked". I personally would not purchase a fish from Hawaii and feed into this game. PS my favorite fish in the world is a healthy NASO but not paying $150 for a see through juvi.
Assuming you’re on about the Hawaiian ban for exporting fish, it’s not all a “Political Ploy” it’s due to them being given “scientific facts” about our hobby from Activists. Some of them may have been;
- “Devastating” Hawaiian Reefs
- “99% of the fish die in a year”
- “half a million fish taken out of Hawaiian waters each month”

I recommend you look into the reason for the ban before coming on here and saying random things you may not actually know about.

It's already been proven that the hobby isn't the reason for decline. You can still fish and eat them just not collect and sell them.

It’s amazing how many people believe this hobby is harming reefs even after the amount of evidence that has proven it wrong.

If you’ve got a chance to get a YEKT, jump at it. I would gladly pay 300. I bought mine for 80 pre ban, I honestly wouldn’t sell mine for 800. It’s the most beautiful fish I’ve ever seen, looks and personality wise. It’s the most beautiful color burgundy, like Louis Vuitton leather
