Hello Everyone,

I recently moved a 3.5" blue hippo tang out of QT in into my display tank along with a 4" one spot foxface. They are the best of friends and are always swimming with each other. They came as a pair and their cost made it to where I could not refuse.

The tank currently has a royal gramma, the tang, and the foxface. I have always read to add tangs last due to their aggression and I am worried that it will be difficult to move the next batch of fish out of QT in into the display. Has anyone had experience adding peaceful fish to the tank after a tang? also, how aggressive is the blue hippo tang compared to other tangs?

Blue hippo tangs can be aggressive to new tank mates but are not the worst tang for it. Use an acclimation box for a couple days for new tank mates and you should be fine.

If yours is an aggressive one, maybe a mirror could also help with aggression (it did for my purple tang after adding a CBB).
My blue hippo is generally pretty chill though and I've added heaps of fish since adding it and luckily they've never really gone for any of them.
