New here to the page. Just bought a hippo tang today and came right home and took my time acclimating him. He immediately swam into a rock and laying on his side. I had a hippo tang years ago and he did very well. It has just been a long time since I have had one. Is this normal behavior for them? its been to long and I don't remember what my other one did. Thank you for the help!

That is normal. They will wedge themselves into a rock and lay sideways when they appear nervous.
Thank you! He started swimming around about a hour or so after entering the tank. He would swim a little then go up to a power head any lay down again, then swim some more.
