On Saturday I made my weekly run to my LFS and purchased a nice zoa and chatted with the owner who gave me a Blue Ridge frag.
My only exposure to this coral was seeing it in magazines back in the 90s and it was stated that it was endangered and not available in the trade.
Fast forward 25 years and my LFS guy gives me a frag for free.
I came home and looked it up and a few sites have it for sale. I never thought I'd see it let alone have a piece of it.

In the LFS it looked dead almost like a piece of glass, no polyps extended and today my little frag sent out a few polyps to greet me.
Pretty stoke but also apprehensive as I know that it's endangered.

Anyone have this?

I have a frag as well. I have an older photo here. This was when it first went into my tank back in June.

NICE ,they banned the collection ,as they were pulling and drying out ,selling the dead skeletons for more than the live pieces.
i still have many pieces of mine ,originally added early 90's ,really cool coral,as it melts ,branches, plates.
and is indestructible... :)

I had a frag in qt that I forgot about. It grew well despite the abuse but not when I turned off the lights! Anyway now you can see the where it gets it’s name.
