I got a blue tang from a shop online and it came like this. Does anyone know what is this? I need to travel and now I’m afraid to add it to my tank with my other tang and get the other one sick too in case this is contagious.

Looks like HLLE and possible bacterial issue. Not sure why anyone would ship a fish in this condition. It looks to be viral and requires Good water quality and diet. Adding selcon vitamins to the foods and garlic extract for immunity health will help
Feed:
LRS herbivore diet
Small plankton
Spirulina brine shrimp
Mysis shrimp
Formula 2 flake and frozen
Hikari mega veggie diet
Hikari marine cuisine

Is it safe to add it to our bigger tank with our yellow tang?
Thank you so much

I haven’t tested for ammonia in a while. Nitrates and phosphates are 0 with Hanna checker. After 2 days it started eating today. My main concern is adding it to the bigger tank and getting the yellow tang sick. The blue tang is in a smaller tank by itself

Out the inline supplier please. That is horrible. That LLD would have been present before shipment.

It should be ok but if doing fine in QT, focus and water quality and diet with fish and look for improvement

I think it won’t make it. It’s not moving much today and looking bad. But thank you so much for all the help
Oh no. Hopefully not the case

Just an update since I mentioned the place where I got it. Unfortunately this one didn’t make it but the shop sent me another one that’s very healthy as soon as I told them this one died. Fish is happy in our tank :)
