SCIENTIFIC NAME: Chaetodon fremblii

COMMON NAME: Bluestripe Butterflyfish

SIZE: 5.1†(13 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE: 55 US Gal (208 L)

FOODS & FEEDING: Feeds on marine fish, crustacean flesh, mysid shrimp and frozen preparations. Should be fed a minimum of 3 times per day.

REEF COMPATIBILITY: Can be kept in reef aquarium with soft corals such as Lemnalia, Litophyton, Sinularia Flexibilis, or Dendronephthya. It will most likely pick at both small and large polyped stony corals.

CAPTIVE CARE: The Bluestripe Butterflyfish often displays its fright/nocturnal coloration during the day in captivity (dirty yellow or blotchy coloration all over) and is somewhat shy, although hardy. This species will accept most aquarium foods that are offered. They should be kept in a low traffic tank where there is no sudden movement, avoiding overly aggressive tank mates and aggressive competitors for food. The Bluestripe Butterflyfish can be kept singly or in pairs.
