Hello everyone. This will be my second reef tank. My first was about 15 years ago. Wow have things changed since then. A lot of automation that keeps things simple and in my opinion makes the hobby more enjoyable. My wife wanted something we could do and enjoy together and made the suggestion of a saltwater aquarium. I was torn between the Red Sea and Waterbox. Ultimately I chose the Red Sea mainly due to availability.

After renting a par meter from a local shop I found the XR15s are not putting out the par I’d like them too. I upgraded to two XR30 pros. I’m now getting much better par readings

I never ran a Red Sea skimmer. When I first setup the tank I used an Octo essence 130. I have since upgraded to the Elite 150sss because I wanted a skimmer with a shut off when the cup got full. Some may say the tank is too small for him but he seems happy to me. I do plan to move him to a friends tank after a little time passes.
