I need a little advice, I bought a bower coral one month ago and this last week it has started receding and not sure why all other corals are doing fine and growing. Aquarium has been set up for 9 months now parameters are as follows:
salt-35.0(Hanna)
ph-8.2(Hanna)
alk-12(Hanna)
mag-1400(RedSea)
ca-470(RedSea)
phos-2(Hanna)
I have kept the coral on the floor of the tank in the front corner with low/moderate flow and low/mod light. I can see at lights out the tentacles are out and extended I do feed with reef roads twice a week and Mysis shrimp and I have seen it eat along with my other corals.
I appreciate any help

you should start cup feeding that, its most likely to help.

instead of dosing your topwater w food, or even injecting near corals underwater, take a plastic cup with a hole in the bottom

and invert it over the coral on the sand, inject feed into that cup hole which is capped over the coral and not spilling around the tank, let sit 30 mins, release cup tank gets the normal dose and he got first takings. Id do it at 5 am or so. find a way to weigh the cup down/turn off pumps if thats what it takes, maybe 2x a week will regenerate it. consider using something other than reef roids, consider one of the frozen or refrigerated fresh reef food options for the rebuilding period.

also, I dont think its receding too bad those septa aren't bright white, they're colored from being exposed a while. it just needs some feed and sustain that 2 mos I bet it will overgrow the sides

hey also the inversion:

taking it out, set in a bowl of substrate and mass feed like a little frag eating from a puppy bowl ha.

nano-reef.com tank of the month pjreef from about 2010 was him doing that with sun corals, external bowl feeding, and fattening them up so much they spawned and produced 400 of them in a 2.5 gallon tank and he didnt have to feed the main tank.

it sure does beat casting food all around the tank!
