So my dilemma now is do I build a custom control box closet which would be on the left side of the tank (between tank and stair rail)> have 9"w x 36"d x 26"h available or do I just place all my controls in the small stair well closet to the left and poke a hole through the wall at the bottom? I'm leaning to placing them in the closet. Issue is some will probably need extensions of some sort. Right side is approx 10" from tank to wall. So by the time I figure 14" plus height to mount them up the wall in the closet, were probably talking 30" to 40" just to the right corner of the stand. Thoughts? Any insight as to extensions if needed? Probably should lay it all out on the floor to see? My 10 gallon ATO reservoir is going into the right 10" between tank and wall. I can also put my dosing containers and pump behind the ATO when the time comes.

@Brent Behringer I agree with @RL6723 . Go with the closet. You don’t want to string too many extensions together on the same piece of equipment. You can potentially have a fire hazard that way. Check out this article: https://www.reef2reef.com/ams/thermal-reckoning-a-fire-in-the-making.71/

Yep, after checking again, the wall in my closet turns 90 left and forms wall that the tank back is up against. So I can install all the electrical and controllers and power bricks there and poke through the wall directly behind the tank! Should work out great!

To be honest I was leaning towards just picking up a second reef wave 25 in the next week so I can have both installed and ready for the upcoming wet testing. I'm also thinking about buying an algae turf scrubber to plumb off my manifold and have it up and running from the start. Still haven't decided on which brand/model yet. Leaning towards the clear water 50 ATS

Sump came last night. Looks awesome! Just barely fit! I think I have about an 1/8” off the Side rubber at the sides and back. Also from front to back it’s close. Maybe 1/4” from the door hinges. Build quality is super. It was packaged very well.

@Brent Behringer that is way cool. What do you plan on putting in the middle section?

Custom Built (in red acrylic) Clear Water ATS is being built for me. CW-50 model. Should be here first part of next week. It’s sim to this pick. All with current updates.

Got a chance to do a little bit of work on the build this weekend. While I had all intentions of getting the main drain, overflow and return pump plumbed to the sump, my plans went w little sideways when I glued part of the main drain piping wrong. So needless to say new parts on order so will have to wait until they get here later into the week. I did get the return pump plumbed as well as my power wall put together. Still have all the cord management to do. But the bulk is f all the controllers, ekoral unit, ekoral power bars and all power bricks are mounted. The power wall is directly behind my tank in the stairwell closet. Hole is cored through the wall. The through wall grommets are due here today. Also I received my custom Clearwater CW-50 ATS this past week. Gonna be a challenge to get it plumbed in. But already have the parts and will plumb as soon as I have the parts to complete the main drain and overflow plumbing. The ats will be fed from my return manifold as will 2 mini reactors and hopefully my uv unit. Also got my RSR 300 skimmer put together. Had it in the sump to fixture out placement/ design of the ATS/Platform but removed it to do the plumbing.

Awesome progress @Brent Behringer . Is that a Simplicity return pump I see? Are they variable speed?

Wow, looks like you are getting set up for a great tank future! That’s a heck of a sumo, I’m jealous! My sump that came with the Red Sea is junk compared to yours!

Main drain and overflow drain lines are plumbed. I now have the return manifold dry fitted and both reactors dry fitted to attach to the manifold. Have return manifold in place and hang temporary to make sure I can fit skimmer, the Klir and clear water scrubber. It will all fit, but will be on the tight side. The 2 mini reactors barely fit height and width wise! Tight squeeze! Am missing a couple parts so I will be ordering from brs in the am.

So this past weekend I was able to get the return line plumbed and glued in. I also was able to get the manifold put together, just need to glue it in and hang it. Also got the custom stand for the ats painted red and will install after the manifold is in place.
