There are some great pictures in those photo dumps and sorry to hear about the fish losses

I ‘try’ to only buy young fish these days, as I’ve found if you get them older you don’t know we’re they’ve been, or history etc. Same with corals, all the large established colonies I’ve ever purchased have eventually died off over a period of weeks/months. Smaller frags seem to fair much better just in my experience anyway.

And they don’t fill up your tank as much, well at least for a little while!

Well, plenty going right with the tank but a few setbacks.

#honestyinreefing I've been working crazy hours at work for the last 8 or 9 days so haven't paid much attention to the tank. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure all of the anthias are gone. Not sure how or why since I haven't had time to observe the tank.

I've had some minor coral issues because of too much flow. I removed a birdsnest before this maintenance outage at work since it was clogged with algae. Only the tips were alive. What I didn't realize is that it was blocking flow and protecting other corals. My blue polyped digitata has some areas where the flesh was blasted away, as well as some parts of a green slimer. I raised my gyres around 3" so both should be out of the direct path. Plenty of healthy coral left on both so I don't foresee losing either of them.

What I did wasn't nearly as heartbreaking as what happened to yours. I suspect it will only take a few weeks of new growth to get them both where they were. At worst I'll have to cut off the top 4" of the slimer and wait for it to grow tall again.

Your macros are getting good!
Thanks! Extension tubes are a wonderful thing!
