Starting a build thread to document this journey. A month ago I was building a 75 gallon mbuna tank when my wife suggested I should finally do a saltwater like I have always wanted to.

Now I have a 75 gallon aquarium running full of saltwater, live sand, 80 lbs dry rock, and 2.5 lbs live rock. For flow I have a 2 smaller hydor koralia powerheads and a gyre 3k. Skimmer is a reef octopuss classic 1000 and I have a tunze osmolator ato.

This weekend I built screen tops and will hopefully be hanging 2 brand new Kessil A360WE lights.

So interesting development. I was cleaning the glass and noticed that a large number of "bubbles" on the glass were moving erratically and were not bubbles, but instead bugs. Guessing these are pods...they are everywhere.

Tank has been cycling for 3 weeks currently water is 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and 5 nitrate.
