Hey everyone! Figured I’d start a build thread for my 20 gallon fusion I started end of September.
Equipment
-IM Nuvo fusion 20 tank
-AI hydra 26hd
-Vortech mp10 reef crest mode
-BRS 4 stage 150 gpd plus rodi

Livestock
-Orange storm clownfish
-Davinci clownfish
-Skunk cleaner shrimp
-Serpent Starfish
-Various cuc snails and hermits
-Ruby red goniopora (probably a mistake lol)

My parameters are
Ammonia, Nitrite 0
Nitrate 2
Ordered a new Hanna checker for phosphate as my old one hadn’t been used in a while and had an old battery in it that corroded :(
pH 8.1
Alk 9.6
Calcium 480
Magnesium 1500
Temp 79.8

I have a couple Zoa frags coming, a Duncan and a red Monti from the tsa live sale the other day tomorrow! Here’s some pics

how do you like the 26d? I just picked up a used nuvo 20 for my daughters room and need to get a light. Trying to decide between finding a used AI Prime HD, used hydra 26d, or maybe a kessel. I have 2 AI Prime HD's on my nuvo 40 that I got a used package. I really like that they have wifi and the app so i can just run a program. the kessil I would need to buy the controller in addition to the light and arm...so im leaning towards AI.

I used to have kessil a160s over a 20 and then 40 breeder and while I liked them especially the shimmer they just don’t feel nearly as strong as the 26hd. I agree the app is so nice compared to buying a $100 controller. It will definitely cover the whole tank and allow you to grow anything SPS wise.

So some updates! Coral one is popping up on the rocks, my back wall and my powerhead. Pretty shocked as the tanks been going now for a little over 2 months. Clownfish are doing great! I’ve added a bunch of corals which all seem to be doing well. Most of the zoas I’ve added have new polyps. I got a tiny Duncan that had been getting larger, no new heads yet though. I’ve had most of the corals for about 3 weeks now and noticed growth on everything except a red Monti I bleached that is just recovering. Here’s some pics and yes I know the tank is young for acros they all seem to be keeping color and growing. I’ve been keeping an eye on parameters like a hawk!!!
Current parameters
Temp 79.5-80.5
Salinity 1.025 (Refractometer)
Ammonia 0 (API)
Nitrite 0 (API)
Nitrate 10 (Salifert)
pH 8.05 (Salifert)
Calcium 480 (Salifert)
Magnesium 1530 (Salifert)
Alk 8.01 (
Phosphate .06-.08 (Hanna)

also have a tunze osmolator ato on the way!

Got some frags from TSA a week ago! All look great! Also got a tunze 3155 ato installed and looking into dosing pumps as I’m losing about 0.4 dkh per day and am manually dosing currently. My red planet is kinda growing like crazy And had recolored up nicely while everything else seems to be growing somewhat lol. My vivid rainbow delight frag I got has browned but has great PE and I’ve heard that’s kinda what it does until it starts growing...

Unfortunately went through a nasty cyano issue and had nitrates bottom out. Lost a couple acro frags and my other sps browned. That was about a month ago. Since then I’ve started dosing nitrates and cleaned up all the cyano.

My red planet and bonsai have recovered so well. The red planet looks better now than ever. My palette pink tip is still recovering but all the other corals (zoos, lps, rock flower and other sps) look so good since dosing nitrate. Biodiversity in the tank is at an all time high as well with sponges, dusters, pods, worms and other life. Unfortunate I lost some acros but glad the tank is doing so well now.

Tank is doing really well. Had some bryopsis but treated with fluconazole and it is either gone or dead now. Corals are growing really well!

Added a possum wrasse, an elegance, goldish hammer and some acans to the tank! Everything is doing great, all acros have got a fairly firm base down so I'm hoping for some branching soon.

Unfortunately shipping was rough on the fish, blackcap died the following morning and the wrasse passed 2 days later :(. I guess I'll just stick to the two clowns and load her up with corals!

On that note I have a purple mille and 2 acans coming from livingreeforlandos live sale this Thursday! I think I have a coral problem...

Oh dang man sorry to hear about the fish loss. Never a good thing. My second tank I had caught ich and I ended up loading the tank with a bunch of coral for the first 3 months before adding any fish. Lol

Tank is doing well. Aiptasia snuck in on a frag somehow so I’ve been nuking them everyday and there is a random spot of gha but the corals look great! I got a Deresa clam that is showing new growth and a torch, ssc acro, and blasto coming tomorrow. Here’s a fts and some pics! Also my red planet is trying to take over my acro rock… shoulda spaced them a little better
