@Broadfield besides the obvious aesthetics what does the new sump offer over the stock one? More capacity? Chamber sizes/arrangement?

Size wise, this one is actually a tad smaller than the stock Red Sea sump... a little less than a 2 gallon difference. Sure, I could of had them make a full custom one to fill the space in the Red Sea cabinet a little more. But honestly I like that there's a tad bit of space up front and on the sides. And a full custom one would of been a substantial price increase.

The @Elite-Aquatics sump offers the following over the Red Sea:
  • As you stated, the far superior aesthetics
  • Adjustable height of skimmer chamber
  • Top plate with lip to prevent splashing/spilling out
  • Cover over filter sock chamber
  • Filter sock holders are standard 4", the Red Sea are not(although the Red Sea can be modified to hold standard 4")
  • Integrated cord routing
  • Integrated dosing line holders
  • Integrated probe rack - 4 probes
  • Removable media tray where you would typically put a bubble trap
  • Engraved water level in skimmer section

Following. Your design and attention to detail is just awesome! Where did you source the colored PVC and fittings?

Thank you! I purchased the pipe from @Bulk Reef Supply and the fittings from Aquarium Speciality. The gate valves and other schedule 80 fittings I snagged from PVCfittingsonline.com

That sump looks fantastic! Time to add a window to the stand doors so this is visible at all times, or even better remove the doors from the stand! I must have missed it are you running 2 filters socks in that sump?

I have tossed around the idea of tinted acrylic doors etc. Because once the new control center is done, this thing is going to look insane. I will definitely be taking the doors off for a master image of the entire tank/stand.

Yes sir, I am running 2 socks.
