Noticed one head of my hammer seemed to be closed up more then usual. It’s a small tank so I was able to rotate it to see a different angle and that’s when I saw this. Newer to the hobby haven’t had any experience with brown jelly or nerosis, but this isn’t looking good.

Not ever good to see brown jelly. I'd use a section of airline or small diameter tubing to carefully siphon off all the necrotizing stuff then dip the colony in iodine or similar coral dip.

After taking it out of the tank and looking at it. I played it safe and removed the head. The other 2 look good. Was worried about spread to the other hammer and octospawn.

Fragging off healthy tissue and iodine dip can save a colony infected with BJD.

I fragged off the decaying head, removed a vemitid snail and dipped the remaining good heads in iodine. They are back in the tank. And are looking good. A little angry right now. But should be out fully again tomorrow.
