I’ve decided to try it on the 55, for now at least, to see if it helps bring
the nutrients down a bit. Doesn’t look too bad for a hob.

The tail definitely isn’t getting better but it still seems healthy other than that. Doesn’t seem to be any I’ll effects and it’s still eating like a pig.

I’ll try to take some pics when it’s out.

Looks good. I like the skimmer on the side, but I also like macaroni with plain sour cream, so..

The one thing I always wondered about hob skimmers is there a safe guard if the cup is about to overflow?

Nope, no safe guard. I’m sure I could install a float switch or something to prevent it from overflowing but I’m sure it’ll be fine. (Famous last words) lol

The GSP looks nice and the hammer as well. I hope you can make up your mind on the skimmer placement. I would prefer it on a corner too.

Thinking about getting a coral+ bulb or 2 to brighten the tank up a lil’.
Can always use the other blue+ bulbs for replacements
