I’ve decided to try it on the 55, for now at least, to see if it helps bring
the nutrients down a bit. Doesn’t look too bad for a hob.

I'm afraid to ask, but how is the Mandarin?
The tail definitely isn’t getting better but it still seems healthy other than that. Doesn’t seem to be any I’ll effects and it’s still eating like a pig.

I’ll try to take some pics when it’s out.

Good to read he is doing better, perhaps got into trouble with other fish but now improving. I hope he achieves full recovery.

Looks good. I like the skimmer on the side, but I also like macaroni with plain sour cream, so..

The one thing I always wondered about hob skimmers is there a safe guard if the cup is about to overflow?

Nope, no safe guard. I’m sure I could install a float switch or something to prevent it from overflowing but I’m sure it’ll be fine. (Famous last words) lol
