I’ve built a few, about to build another VERY shortly ...
Craftmanship is on par !!! Two thumbs!! (Not Too sure about mounting that EB832 in the hood tho, might be OK)
is that dimensional PVC board or very nicely painted wood?

oh and materials list pleeez (esp ballast part#) I’m looking for a affordable dimmable Waterproof T5 - encap/ballats combo

It is going to go on to this 300G 8 ft long "wider than taller" tank:

2020-06-07-jpg.1620530

I want it "floating" in the mid air. It will be hung by 4 steel wires (hopefully invisible). Then a coiled power cord and AquaBus cable would be run to it from a wall outlet plate. With the EB832 (or EB8 will do but I want to see the wattage) and the VDM, I can turn off and on the kessils and T5, and do the sunrise sunset by apex.
The ballasts (2 needed) are dimmable and drive four 36" T5 lights. There will be 6 kessil A360Ws each with articulating mounts.
4 linear actuators will be holding / pulling the hanging wires thru the pulleys and be controlled by a remote. It will raise the canopy up 12" when I need it.
I will add some night light by running some LED strips. Why not make use of all the outlets you know.
I worry about the weigh. If the whole canopy comes down on to the tank and crush it, 300G of water will be on the floor. I have to make sure the ceiling support and the wires are strong enough and I might add some backup hanging wires (coiled type).
The T5 light bulbs might be sticking out a bit. I was hoping, when hung, I would only see the light, not the bulbs. But I will see.
No fan needed as it is already in the open. I know it will add heat to the already humid room.
PVC boards weigh and flex too much. I used some primed MDF boards and then spray-painted the rack with some glossy white. That is what my local Lowes has. If there is other lighter and stronger board, I would not have hesitated to use it instead.
Parts are mostly home depot, lowes, ebay, amazon stuff. I will finish it, get some more photos and then make a list of parts.

Done. If I had to redo it, I would use some wider (and possibly lighter) wood boards. I don't like seeing the light bulbs. The actuators work perfectly. I could have installed more T5s.
