I tend to view VC as a not good sign for small, innovative companies ..... too growth and profit centric .... and usually just a matter of time before a ‘professional’ CEO is installed. I have seen no differences so far though .....

It's still way too early to see the impacts, wont be for at least a year or more until you might start seeing "serious" impacts. If BRS still delivers to both reefers and investors then nothing will happen, but if they dont deliver to investors then thats when the investors will call for a change

Oh I would wager they will expand the BRS brand of hardware and supplements/foods etc. and will be in your neighborhood pet stores. You need capital to do that.
Or maybe they are resurrecting the Reef Keeper

Hmm, from the initial presser (see emphasized text):

"“The Bulk Reef Supply team is thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with Bertram Capital and find the next evolution of BRS,” said Ryan Batcheller, Co-Founder and Visionary. “During the sale process, Bertram demonstrated a clear understanding of what drives e-commerce enthusiast brands like BRS"

This makes it read like it was more of a buyout by Bertram, rather than a simple investment by them.
