Still few coats to do, but couldn’t help myself when arrived. SemiGrow it5080b (reef breeder photon v2) and iquatics 4x39w T5 kit. Unfortunately the remote was dead and takes 6hours to charge so no clue what setting the leds was but BRS did investigation on these lights and running all 3 blues at 100, white 50 and RG 10 was guaranteed 250-350. So plus 4 T5s 2xpurple 2xblueplus. Should give me plenty of scope for the full journey with a mixed reef.
a lot of cable management required and great to see no light spill, never realised how many positiveof this canopy.
plenty of coverage as tank is 90x50 and bulbs alone is 88x45 lol.

Setting myself some targets, thought my post them here, as id be writing them somewhere...
JAN
  • Cabinet/Canopy Finished (stain every night should be her)
FEB
  • Clear/Clean/Dump/Sell/Prepare Garage - Dedicated sections to ensure a safe reef station. (THIS MAY TAKE SOME TIME)
  • Have New Tank on Stand and Basic Layout of system in place for photo (still equipment to buy, but waiting for my moment, to know im hot). HO Fuge awaiting delivery (hope it fits, pixel perfect kinda order), I Have an unknown which is Controllers, Tablet. May need to build a mini control board.
  • Phase 1 Reef Station (just use what have but will do this up in long term as proper dedicated reef station , I plan on fragging in future, clear space for all things reef)
  • Move/Setup Mixing Station (prob just use what have until upgrade to bumblebee reef station style)
  • Cultures Setup in Reef Station
  • Setup Basic Doser/Containers
  • Nano Reef Moved From Living Room to Reef Station
MAR
  • Move stand into living room
  • Cut Hatch in living room
  • Hopefully run green pipe from living room to hole under fridge
  • Replace Hatch, and move tank in situ (basic plumbing and wiring here)
  • Run Green Pipe to garage (reef station)
  • On success, cut out ATO Res out of sump as no longer required as will be running from rodi bin directly
  • TIME TO ORDER EVERYTHING
APR
  • Wire, plumb, electrics, lines, new consumer unit. (Connect Reef Station to Living Room)
  • Unbox order, install.
  • TIME TO GET WET, TEST AND ALL SYSTEMS GO!
ONWARDS
  • Some Fish (3 most likely gramma, firefish, lawnmower blenny, maybe tang and sixline if get overexcited), CUC, no lights
  • Get stable, turning lights on
  • Once happy move clowns, corals and scape in.
  • Setup nano as QT and start QT fish, buying corals, inverts, biomedia all ongoing
  • Building a battery backup system, extra failsafes and security on tank
  • Upgrading reef station to bumblebee level.
  • Adding a frag station into the reef station.
It be a busy few years, hopefully able to start selling good quality frags :)

Got the opportunity for a free hour, got second coat on interior/exterior and another cheeky one on exterior panels that will be seen. Will leave interior now at that and feel like a light run over with sand paper, wipe down with damp cloth and final coat on visible panels.
Still waiting locks for doors, but have the bolt heads for canopy, so will do that when dry too.
Turning oxfords into brogues.

Attached Lights to canopy and made start withcable management. Will need to run and clip cables into place on roof so don’t hang; touch tidier but really happy with within. Fan on left to help with heat distribution and hopefully create a draw that helps with pH. Auto feeder to feed breakfast and possibly lunch to down the line. I’ll feed frozen/live in evenings...

It arrived...
well it arrived, it fits the space, you’d almost think it was custom built. Thought dead space in cabinet, and was gonna get algae reactor. So thought take a punt. Hang on refugium with a reactor kinda (fluidised sand) but wud be good place for media as nice flow. Will see how it plays out. Wee mangrove chaeto, bit of mud. And wrap full thing in 5m roll of grow lights. So basically a hang on algae reactor

Still trying to make space in garage so thought I’d attempt this as mini project during my break and will clear a box. Underneath frags will hold a large bio brick, rubble section will be a safe haven for growing out shrooms.

The frag rack should hold 75-100 plus shroom section and mini frag rack above shrooms if ever need more grow out space cud easily take that from 10/20/30. But this is enough to tickle me.

Lights running frags will be my current lights on nano. I kept stock light for nano to use for QT. I will probably only run one light instead of two as be plenty at that water depth and spread. Light is a zetlight 1201

Hang on Refugium
Video of HO Fuge.
So this the basic concept: separate hang-on unit for fuge, 500lph pump to bring it in, through an in-house reactor (will i run media here, don't know, if become bio-pellet man nice place or if need to run GFO every whip perfect place, not sure until I get system up and running to see how its like to maintain, worst case ill fill a 1/3 with sand) then back out and into chamber one. Took a punt on this LED GROW LIGHT ROLL. £10 why not surely a great light source? only time will tell.

Plan on running chaeto, prob a bed of miracle mud, topped with sand/crushed rock/coral and maybe a mangrove. maybe a nugget or two of rock for a wee pod hotel. Also plan on wrapping sump so will be no light leak at all.

Is this in the sump?
Its Monday and I still have my weekend brain on..:D
Its a hang on refugium, so hanging on the side of chamber one, yellow pipe on right is inlet from a pump and black pipe elbowed off is outlet to return back into chamber one. It just seemed so perfect for that dead space
