Business trip for 3-8 weeks. I have 3 weeks to prep.

Child (21) of mine who is at home, loves the tank and will help.

Top off not an issue.

Water change would be…. Lets be honest here, I try to do 10% a week but more likely its 30% a month.

Changing socks not an issue

Right now, I manually dose 2 part. EVS and TM K and A…and mag when needed

Thinking about switching to All-For-Reef for ease while I’m gone and setting up a dosing pump (they scare me)

Have a reef-pi to monitor pH/temperature which I can have access to remotely.

Going to set up a web cam also to monitor.

Nothing hard to keep zoas, montis, shroms, easy SPS.. Foxface, Filefish, 6 line.

Feed BSD Flake Spirulina and Kelp mixed with Mysis also…and then a cube or 2 a week of frozen. Aminos every couple days.

Current issues with the tank..GHA in spots and a few Aiptasia. But getting it under control.

Any other thoughts?

What size/type is the tank? If your trip is 3 weeks I'd just skip a water change.

If it were me, I wouldn't worry about the water changes unless your water parameters are right at the threshold where you'd be concerned if they were slightly elevated. Is your offspring up for testing while you're away?

Yeah, don’t worry about water changes. Get an auto feeder and thoroughly test it before leaving to make sure it doesn’t dump too much in the tank. Either get the dosing pump or pre-measure out what should be dosed and label it with dates and instructions for your kid.

This seems like an easy case.

Don’t do any water changes for the 3 weeks. Not a big deal at all.

I’d like the socks to be maintained while you are away.

I think you have enough time to switch over to All For Reef with the dosing pump. I really like the Kamoer dosing pumps. That’s a good idea.

Auto feeder is the kid.. she wont over feed.

Pretty sure I have a plan set.. does not hurt to have another set off eyes on it..

Depending on how much you regularly dose every week, you could always get a bunch of small containers and divvy up how much you dose into them.

THat is an amazing idea.. thanks... The TM A and K are in squirt bottles.. 3 pumps each every day... you got me thinking now
