Hmm is there going to be a sale on these over the holiday weekend?

Coming down to 36" Orphek B+ and the 36" Reefbreeder new blue/UV hybrid for me? The Reef Breeders a little cheaper in price and also a little more into the UV spectrum. The Orphek looks like it might be a slightly better fixture. Anyone own/owned both? I do have RB royal Ice and they have been pretty good.
You can order an all UV light bar from Orphek for an extra $10

I didn't want all UV. If it was all sps tank I would want a all UV strip.. This is going on a mixed tank..
Technically none of the led fixtures are true UV, they dip a little into the purple/UV spectrum. True UV leds are expensive.
If I was doing a shallow water SPS tank true UV would be helpful.

I work in the lighting industry and UV bulbs are becoming popular with all the bacteria on food and Covid. The lamps are used to kill bacteria like in between shifts. Starting to be used in hospitals and dentist office now too. Still use fluorescent for that because of the cost of UV leds..

I just ordered the OR3 120 48" Blue Plus light bar to go along with my Photon 50 V2+. Since my tank is 48.5" x 30.5 x 25, I was worried about coverage of entire width. Can't hurt to get some extra blues to make everything pop.

I have a 30” tank with one Radion x15 v4 and I want to add a 24” bar. I need to fill in some shadowing. I tend to like a bit more white but wonder if I should get the blue plus for better coral growth and maybe just tune my Radion to get the color I want? My tank goes deep blue before shutdown and I like the coral fluorescence then. Anyone know what kind of kelvin rating the daylight has? 10k? 14k?

You can do a V3 bar in Blue+ and tune your fixtures more blue or do a V3 Reef Day and tune your fixtures more blue. The V2 bars were available custom but not the V3's so far. I have a modified V2 I love with extra 12k added to a blue + but you're better off tuning your other fixtures for more blue.

For a 5 foot long 2 foot deep by 2 foot wide mixed tank, I am going with an ORPHEK Atlantek (from a smaller tank) on one end for high par corals and clams and the other will have 2 x 36 OR blues, 2x 36 OR white, and 1x 24 OR blue (from a previous tank).

I ended up ordering a blue+. I really need the fill in light to be useful for the corals because I have zoas teaching towards the center of the tank since my light is just a single point. I’m running my radon at 100% blue/uv/violet and added 64% warm/cool white to get the color I wanted since the AB+ was too blue for me at 34% white. I figure with this fixture being half the wattage of my Radion which I’m running at 80% I might just get away with turning down the blue some since it’s going to be adding so much more light

Well I got my light yesterday and got it installed. I’m so glad I went with the blue. I need to stop my zoas reaching toward the single light source so hopefully this helps. The fluorescence is crazy. My nem lights up under this bar like it normally only would when my lights go deep blue right before shut off. I’m now running my tank a little more blue than normal but I can always add more white. I turned my blues down from 100% to 64% when the bar turns on. Will try it there for now and make changes. I’m sold on adding one of these to my 4’ 120g that I’m building now. That will have halide, led, and t5 on it

Can these lights be hung via the 80/20 T-slot aluminum pieces?

They come with angle brackets and also a hanging kit.
