Ugh what a week. On one hand, I wasn't really feverish so I could still go out on the beach. Cocoa isn't as crowded a beach as the touristy ones a little further down the coast are (Daytona, New Smyrna, etc) so we were able to stick to ourselves without close interaction with others. But on the other hand, I felt the worst in the mornings and evenings and as per usual hotel beds SUCK so I don't feel very recovered. We actually came home a day early. First thing I did was take a shower, it's nice to actually feel dry and not damp/salty still.
Boss texted me to warn me Regional VP will be coming to my store Thursday
apologized for the intrusion because he knew I was on vacation but figured I'd rather have the heads up still. I told him it was okay, and jokingly said I was pretty sure his flying in and out every week passed me covid so vacation wasn't super great anyway and he immediately went in and rejected my vacation time and told me to resubmit it as sick time instead (our company keeps them separate, sick rolls over year to year and I have over 100 hrs of it still). That was pretty cool of him though.
New boss is officially incoming new boss. I got a few messages from contacts at home office throughout the week touching base since we'll be working closely together for the new store opening. That's exciting. Not 100% when I swap off this store's payroll yet. We have a call Tuesday to see if everything is still on track for the current grand open date and to figure out deliveries and timelines.
