I have two masked gobies in a 13.5 fluval evo. They are very nice fish and apparently school in larger numbers. I am wondering if other species of nano gobies can be added together with no conflict. I would assume yes seeing how most of these smaller nano gobies are so docile/peaceful, but want to hear any experience from others.

List:

Red Striper (Trimma Cana)
Masked Goby (Coryphopterus personatus)
Neon Goby Fish (Elacatinus oceanops)
Clown Goby (Gobiodon)
White Spotted Goby (Trimma cf. caesiura)
Starry Goby (Asterropteryx semipunctatus)

Hello?

It can be done!
If you need any experience in gobies mixing then I can help, I have 6 gobies quite happily residing with eachother. If I could redo my tank I’d have it strictly gobies, maybe sneak a pink streak or possum in there though (I swear I’m not excited for my E. lineatus to pass on or my two wrasses to outgrow it). My 6 gobies I have are;
  • Trimma tevegae pair (Sold as just two unidentified nano gobies)
  • Koumansetta hectori (Hectors Sand Goby)
  • Stonogobiops yasha (Yasha Shrimp Goby)
  • Discordipinna griessingeri (Flaming Prawn Goby) - My most expensive goby until I have room for a White Cap Goby
  • Gobiodon acicularis (Black Clown Goby)

Keys to success?
• plenty of rockspace,
• pods are also a big one for one of the fish I own (D. Griessingeri),
• making sure they all eat frozen in the LFS unless they’re not known for it
• Over feeding ever so slightly for any nocturnal ones to have left overs to feed on

If there’s any more questions, feel free to ask! I do plan on making a thread all about my tank and how it works in the future if I manage my plan of Goby heaven. Maybe by then my profile will have changed to a photo of one of my gobies - most likely the griessingeri as it’s been my dream fish since the beginning.
