I'm just wondering if anybody can help identify this species of hermit crab. I was gifted 4 of them, they're relatively small (1/2 inch including shell), and they seem to dislike each other quite a bit. I'm not sure how big they'll get, or if they're reef safe.

I've done quite a bit of research to attempt to identify them, and have been pretty unsuccessful

Thanks in advance.

I don't have experience with them, but it looks like a zebra hermit.

This appears to be a good match, the 'Dwarf Red Tip Hermit Crab' or 'Mexican Hermit Crab' (2nd one down on this page):
