Not sure what this is as all other corals in my tank are doing great. I can easily brush off this growth but just seems to come back and now the other head has its mouth wide open and will not inflate at all. This candy cane has been trouble since the begining covered with algae and not wanting to open. It has been in the tank around 2 months.

Could you get a picture with more whites for us? Could possibly be a sponge.

Poriferan sponge
It it is harmless but can grow crazy. If it becomes an issue, you can trim with a razor Or inject with air or vinegar to halt it

Thank you all for the responses. Think I am just going to have to scrape it off as my cc refuses to open. Appreciate the assistance.
