what is this under the frags that are crawling. is this a pod?
it was last night i turned on the lights(after the light being out for 3 hours) then i saw a bunch of them under the frag plugs. this morning i only saw a few. maybe theyre hiding under.
and my zoas arent doing so great. could this be the problem?
it comes out at around 18sec and 30sec.

and also can anyone confirm if that is brown hair algae on the plug? im planning to dip them in hydrogen peroxide.

Thanks

Looks like an amphipod to me. If it's is, no need to worry they are good :)

As far as the algae... I don't think it's hair algae. Maybe dinoflagellate?

The way it moves and the little bit that you do see of it in the video makes me think it is.

I'm not really sure to be honest. I'm sure there is someone that could give you far better answers than the ones you're getting from me. If it's possible a few pictures wouldn't hurt either. For the algae ID. I hope for your sake not, but could it be bryopsis? Maybe Google it and compare...

yeah thats a pod. They come out at night usually.

And that looks like brown hair algae. How's your set up? Age?
Change out your GFO. Also, you can scrub it off with a toothbrush usually. Remain diligent and it will subside. The zoas aren't coming out because of the algae.

my tank is 2 months old. using HOB. i have seachem phosnet and matrix carbon in mediabag.
im doing weekly 20% water change. never missed. tank is currently fallowed for about 3 weeks already. ghost feeding 2-3 times per week.
im going to change my gfo now and would dosing hydrogen peroxide help?
