Hi All,

I have this golden colored 'stuff' that is on my gravel. It is photosynthetic as it is growing bubbles. Can somone ID for me?
I sucked some up and put under the microscope, but it doesn't seem to be similar to others I've seen.

It could be diatoms (How old is the tank?).
It for sure looks like stage one of the uglies since the rock looks relatively new.

No, not a new tank.

13.5 gal Nano.

Alk 8.0
Ca 450
Mg 1380
NO3 10ppm
PO4 1ppm

The tank has had Ostreopsis previously, but that cleared up - this is not the same.
Does not look like diatoms

Thanks
Graham.

It’s not cyano either, maybe dinos but then you would have seen something under the microscope.
