I have a 50 gallon tank (36in long)
Could I add a sand sifting Goby to my current lineup:

1x Purple firefish
2x clownfish
1x orange back fairy wrasse
1x yellow band possum wrasse
1x lawnmower blenny
1x Royal Gramma

Or would it be too much?

It depends on what you are using to export waste. The more import you have, i.e. food, fish poop, etc, the more export you need. For a basic setup, you may already be adding too much.

I think you're OK. I have 65g DT with similar size fish and I added a YWG. It was an easy add because he is a bottom dweller. I have 9 fish total but small to mid size only.

My yellow goby does NOT sift sand like their rep. Once in a blue moon he does it. If your getting him just to sift sand be warned, he might not like the job

LOL really? Yeah I basically want one for that job... My nessarius snails are too lazy to do a good job at it.

Should be fine. I have 5 wrasses, purple fire fish, indigo dottyback, tailspot blenny, fangtooth blenny and a yellow goby living harmoniously.
