Can I add Iodine to my topoff?

I am writing to see if I am able to add iodine to my top off.

My ICP came back a couple times with low Iodine so it seems to be an on going issue.

My suggested does was under a ml a day. Triton suggesting 7ml a week.

I refill my auto top off once a week I was wondering if I could add it to the RO/DI?

Would there be any benefit to spreading it out?

I have heard Iodine tends to be rather reactive so would it lose its effectiveness not being dosed directly?

I am not a chemist by any means, But I do add Red Sea ABCD colors program to my ATO res and I have not had any issues.

IMO, the iodine (likely iodide) may change form (to iodate) when highly diluted and exposed to O2.

That may be fine, but iodate is less bioavailable, and it may possibly accumulate where iodide would not (I think that happened in my tank when I experimented with iodate dosing).

That said, I'm not convinced iodine is a useful supplement, so it's hard to get less useful (IMO). lol

Thanks that is what I was thinking. I will just dose it once a week.
