Hello, my QT tank in my room to eradicate velvet which is being treated with copper power has an HOB and aerator which is keeping me up at night. Would it hurt if I turn off those 2 equipment every night and turn them back on the next morning? Thanks

If you do this, will the water be totally still or is there a power head or something?

Doesn’t take too long for fish to run out of O2 in still water

Yea it will be totally still. If I can at least turn off the hob and leave the aerator on, then it’s still better than having both on.

It might work. Worst case you kill the fish.

What HOB are you running?
My cheap little aquaclear runs dead silent.

How big is the QT? Do you have an old heavy blanket you can throw over it? You have a narrator in, running off a air pump. So oxygen will get in and that should quiet it some.

I am and extremely light sleeper. I wear earplugs every night or I can get a good night sleep. Would a blanket and cotton in your ears help?

I wore ear plugs to try to combat that filter noise but its uncomfortable and I can still hear the noises. Tank is around 16 gallons

I'm using a 37 gallon kit HOB that I've been using for years

I say keep it running, to help with noise you may could try to upgrade to a better HOB brand. Or something?
I have a new filter used for tanks from 40-65gallons but I think it may be too large for a 15 gallon
