Hi, just wondering if somebody could tell me what is happening and maybe some advice on what to do next please? Really new to the hobby and I'm not real sure what is happening and why? So it's an algae I know but not sure which one.
My water is going cloudy even when parameters are ok. I did a 15% water change the day before in a red sea 525xl
Help would be extremely appreciated - thank you

Ps phosphate is .15 which is probably too high but trying to lower in nyos torq with phosban
Cheers

Green cloudy or white cloudy?

Some attack cloudy water with UV to kill suspended bacteria and algae. Cloudiness caused by calcium carbonate requires another approach.

Are you dosing any carbon or similar for example Nopox?

It looks like some type of bacteria bloom/flocks certainly the slimy white stuff
No haven't been dosing, to be honest I get a little bit worried and don't have the confidence about dosing as I don't quite know the chain reactions of dosing things just yet.

How old is the tank? It looks really new and white. You'll likely just need to wait for everything to mature a little more. I see the slimy/stringy stuff, but it wouldn't worry me at all. I wouldn't do anything.
Thanks - The tank is about 3 months old..
Does that cloudiness just clear up? I wasn't sure if it would hurt the livestock.. Nothings gasping or anything like that.. but then again I don't know much..

To me, it doesn't look that cloudy. You can see all the way down the tank the long way.

The tank is really new and will go through all sorts of stuff for the next 3-6 months.

Awesome! - Bit more at peace with that! I thought something was going to be way off and didn't know where to even begin to look like fixing it if that's was the case.
Back to letting it run it's course! Thank you
