Can someone explain to me how my fish jumped out of this?

Lost my mccoskers today, my favorite fish.

How in the world did he escape this?

Sucks :/, that gap to the right of my light mount is about a half inch and about a quarter inch narrow.

I have a similar gap, about a 1/4 inch and that was just enough for my goby. Both wrasses and gobbies are masters at jumping

Lost my yellow coris wrasse. It found the feeding cutout in my eggcrate cover. Go figure. Cant have any gaps as they seem to fimd them from what I have read.

Any/all gaps must be smaller than such.

Me too! A diamond goby and I had TWO LIDS on that tank because the last one jumped out. Didn’t find this one’s body but he was in QT so not many places to hide. Thinking the cat got it after escape. Not Getting another.

My wrasse is nearly 3” so I’m praying he can’t get out of 1/4” squares...fingers crossed. Sorry for your loss. I want a McCoskers but they’re always always sold
